Emmonak Women's Shelter Facility Replacement

Project Date: 2002-2005
Project Manager: Thea Agnew Bemben
Clients: The Foraker Group, Emmonak Women's Shelter
Locations: Emmonak

The Emmonak Women's Shelter provides emergency services to domestic violence victims in Emmonak and ten surrounding villages in the Lower Yukon sub-region. There has been no significant facility renovation since the shelter opened in the early 1980's. On a recent visit, the Rasmuson Foundation identified the need to replace the facility. Thea Agnew Bemben, working with the Foraker Group and the Denali Commission, provides on-site support to the Emmonak Women's Shelter to assist with conceptual and business planning for the new facility.

Preliminary design funding has been secured. Agnew::Beck will continue to assist with securing construction funding, aiming to complete facility replacement by spring 2005.
