Yakutat Multi-Use Facility Conceptual PlanningProject Date: 2007 - present With funding from the Denali Commission, the Yakutat Tlingit Tribe hired Agnew::Beck, together with Summit Consulting, to create a conceptual plan for a multi-use facility in Yakutat, Alaska. Through this process, Agnew::Beck guided stakeholders, including the Yakutat Tlingit Tribe, the City and Borough of Yakutat, and the US Forest Service, through a comprehensive conceptual planning process. This process included determining which services the proposed facility could realistically provide; selecting the site and outlining guidelines for gaining control of the chosen site; and financial- and business-planning in order to estimate and obtain the funds needed to build and operate the facility. The project resulted in a creative solution that will involve the renovation of existing facilities to create a multipurpose facility and the construction of new prefabricated public safety facility. The proposed multipurpose facility will include administrative offices for both the City and Borough of Yakutat and Yakutat Tlingit Tribe, a Family Resource Center, a Youth Center and an Elders Center, and the US Forest Service as an anchor tenant.
