Agnew::Beck has prepared a site-specific land use plan for four parcels in Eagle River owned by the Heritage Land Bank. The land use plan recommends future uses and management of these parcels to serve Heritage Land Bank's mission, the community's interests and the Municipality of Anchorage. Planning steps have included assembling an overview of past planning efforts and projects in progress, compiling information regarding land use and market trends in Eagle River, and preparing a set of environmental maps and data on the parcels. A community workshop was held in September 2007 to allow community members to review environmental information and offer impressions about site opportunities and constraints. An informal work session took place in November 2007 to review a conceptual site plan and suggest revisions and refinements to this conceptual plan. On February 6th, members of the community gathered again to review changes to the conceptual site plan and provide feedback on preliminary plan recommendations. On Thursday, March 6th, a fourth public event to review the draft land use plan took place. See the Public Participation section below for more details, including meeting notes, background documents and the draft plan. The community will have further input when the plan is presented for public hearings before the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Anchorage Assembly. Preliminary Project Map
