Anchorage Libraries Need Your Help!
The Anchorage
Library Foundation and the Friends of the Library have developed a
the Anchorage Public Library Community Plan to shape the future of the city’s public libraries. The plan comes as Anchorge libraries experience record-high usage and are providing more services with less resources. Our libraries can help build an even more vibrant, strong and successful community. Thank you to the thousands of Anchorage residents who shared insight about our libraries and provided valuable feedback.

Read the plan and other reports. The Library is a tremendous asset to the Anchorage community. A 2007 ISER study concluded that residents of the Municipality receive $1.42-$2.46 of value for every tax dollar invested in the Library. The goal of this plan is to develop a path that will allow the Anchorage Public Library to do more than just survive. It is an effort to chart a path that will nurture this community asset and that will allow it to thrive long into the future. The planning process has engaged thousands of residents in a conversation about what the Anchorage Public Library should be. This draft plan reflects the hopes and dreams of the people of Anchorage.
